Kinder Week 19

Dear Kinder Families,
Happy 19th Week of Kindergarten!I’d like to offer continued prayers to those affected by the Los Angeles Wildfires. May God bring them peace, protection, and safety for all their loved ones and belongings. I was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley, and many of my childhood surrounding cities, family, and friends are suffering from tremendous loss and breach of safety. The air quality in Gardena remains poor and our hearts remain heavy as our fellow Angelos are suffering, but SAP remains open to our students. Please remember to bring kid-sized face masks for your children, I have some to replenish throughout the day for when we go outside!

Monday 1/13 Jean’s Day for $2 to support LA WildFires!
Students are allowed to wear JEANS tomorrow for a donation of $2. All donations will go towards the LA Wild Fires! They can wear jeans, and their uniform tops.Kinder STAR Testing
Kindergarten will be taking their STAR Early Literacy Testing next week from 1/21-1/24. Please ensure they have a nutritious breakfast and snack to fuel their bodies and brains! Kinder does NOT take the STAR Math Tests!I will also be giving them a Sight Words Assessment and a Letter Sound/Name Recognition Assessment next week. This is just to screen where they are in this point of Kindergarten. They have taken the same test in the beginning of the year (the letter test I shared with you during parent conferences).
No School on Monday, 1/20
The school will be closed next Monday 1/20 for Martin Luther King Jr. Day!Progress & STAR Reports
Progress reports will be sent home on Friday, 1/24 as well as their STAR Reports from their 2nd Window Testing results.Catholic School’s Week & Open House
Open house will be on Sunday, 1/26 where we will kick off the start of Catholic School’s Week! Open house will be from 12:00p-2:00p where the classrooms will be open to visit! Throughout the week we will be celebrating something different every day to commence our special week!- Jan 27: Student Appreciation Day
