May 27: 3rd Trimester Mass Reflection (10 reflections required)
Lenten ProjectDuring this season of Lent, we take time to pray, fast, and give. I have given your child a Lenten Family Calendar to help guide your family in daily : prayer, almsgiving and/or fasting . I encourage you to take part in these daily activities with your child as a way to grow together spiritually during this special time. To help students stay engaged, I have asked them to color their calendar each time they complete an activity with their family. We will have daily check-ins in class to share and reflect on our Lenten journey. Genius Hour On Friday, I have introduced the "genius hour" which is how we will explore science this trimester. Genius Hour is also called "passion project" and it consists of having students choosing topics that they like, learn more about them, and teach us about them. We have set the deadlines together and I believe we will work on it until the beginning of May. When Genius Hour can be done in all subjects, ours will focus more on science.
Monday, March 10th Today, we have no school due to our Faculty Lenten Retreat, led by our pastor Msgr. Sal Pilato.
Awards Ceremony Our 2nd Trimester Awards Assembly will take place in the hall on Thursday, March 13, starting at 8am. Grades K-4 at 8am in the Hall, and Grades 5-8 at 9am in the Hall. I will send out direct emails to all families of our awardees. For a student to receive a Citizenship award, a student must earn A's (Outstanding = 92-100%) on both work habits and behavior grades. Therefore, students' daily behavior, participation, attendance, assignments, projects, ST MATH AND AR goals and work habits are IMPORTANT factors in receiving an award.A
